"Thank you for shopping at Zip Zap Zop Games," said Dave, handing a plastic bag of Nintendo Wii video games to the gentleman in front of the counter, "and have a Merry Christmas." The gentleman returned the seasonal greeting and then made his way past the line of customers that snaked through the store. Dave turned his attention to the next customer in line, a young woman in a red parka holding a new PlayStation 3 gaming system. "Will that be all today?" he asked.

Through the combination of a hyperactive workplace, an ill-advised promise, and exploding bathroom pipes, I will basically get through this summer without either appearing on a stage, in a ballpark, at an amusement park, or off on any type of vacation.

Simply put, this is not acceptable, and it calls for drastic measures.

Anyone want to join me on a whirlwind trip to Seattle and back this December for the as yet unannounced Child's Play Dinner and Charity Auction?

Anyone interested in helping me move furniture next Saturday afternoon (June 12th) between 2 and 4 PM? My mother is moving into a smaller place, and I am getting one of the two sets of living room furniture she has. I will have already moved out my old furniture that morning, and there isn't that much furniture coming in; the job should be done in less than an hour. The two-hour window is basically figuring out when she arrives. Anybody who can help will be rewarded with pizza or similar foodstuffs. If you can help, plrease reply. Thanks!

The video games of the 80's invade New York City ...

I have been a member of Boxscore Baseball for about 12 years now. It has a lot of strange and quirky rules that govern everything from drafting to scoring to waivers to the playoffs. I have only finish in the top half of the league once, and that was a third place finish back in either 2006 or 2007.

What this league does not lack is imagination. And egos. Or lack therof.
